Jaecoo, Chery’s premium spin-off brand, is gearing up to enter the Australian market with the launch of its mid-sized J7 SUV in May 2025. Initially available in two front-wheel drive (FWD) variants, the Jaecoo J7 will later expand to include all-wheel drive (AWD) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) models.

Official pricing is yet to be confirmed, but the Core and Track 2WD variants are expected to be priced between $35,000 and $40,000. Full Australian specifications, including details on the AWD and PHEV models, will be revealed in March 2025.

Jaecoo J7 Driving Impressions

During our test drive, the Jaecoo J7 delivered a comfortable and refined driving experience. The steering was precise, and the ride quality was smooth, making it a great option for city driving and long trips. However, we did notice a slight lag in the 13.2-inch touchscreen when using Apple CarPlay with navigation apps like Waze or Google Maps.

Additionally, the AI assistant activated multiple times while driving, causing slight distractions. However, these issues are easily fixable with a software update, which we expect Jaecoo to roll out in future versions.

Jaecoo J7 Warranty and Servicing

While final warranty details are yet to be confirmed, we anticipate that Jaecoo will offer a similar 7-year warranty to its parent company, Chery.
