Audi is preparing to enter the premium electric sedan market in Australia with its upcoming A6 e-tron, positioning it as a direct competitor to the Mercedes-Benz EQE and BMW i5. This move signifies Audi's commitment to expanding its electric vehicle lineup in the Australian market.

The Audi A6 e-tron is expected to launch in Australia in late 2024 or early 2025.It will be based on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture, co-developed with Porsche.

The A6 e-tron will offer both sedan and Avant (wagon) body styles. Initial models are likely to feature dual-motor all-wheel drive setups. Audi claims a range of up to 700km on the WLTP cycle for some variants.

The vehicle will support 270kW DC fast-charging, allowing for quick top-ups. Pricing is expected to be competitive with the Mercedes-Benz EQE and BMW i5.

The A6 e-tron will join Audi's growing EV lineup, which includes the e-tron SUV and e-tron GT. This launch is part of Audi's global strategy to introduce only all-electric models from 2026 onwards.
