Ford Everest Tremor: Adventure-Ready For Off-Road Enthusiasts
Get ready to tremble with excitement! The Ford Everest family is expanding with the introduction of the Tremor, a variant designed for off-road enthusiasts and weekend warriors. This rugged new variant comes packed with off-road kit and unique styling, making it the perfect companion for your outdoor adventures.
Price and Availability
Starting at a price of $76,590 before on-road costs, the Everest Tremor is a smidge pricier than the Sport 4WD it’s based on. However, it’s a steal compared to the flagship Platinum which goes for $81,115 before on-road costs. Production is expected to kick off in November this year, with Ford already welcoming expressions of interest from potential buyers.
Engine and Performance
Unlike the Ranger Tremor, which is available exclusively with Ford’s Bi-Turbo, the beefed-up Everest will be offered with a 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6. Power is sent to all four wheels through a full-time four-wheel drive system with selectable terrain modes. The engine choice reflects the model’s position within the range, offering a perfect blend of power and efficiency.
Off-Road Kit and Styling
The Tremor treatment includes the addition of Bilstein position-sensitive dampers, new springs, Bolder Grey wheel arch mouldings, and General Grabber AT3 all-terrain tyres. These modifications give the Everest Tremor an additional 26mm of ground clearance over the standard variant. A new ‘rock crawl’ four-wheel drive mode is also included, designed to improve traction and momentum on loose, rocky surfaces.
Exterior and Interior Upgrades
The Tremor gets a blacked-out honeycomb grille with auxiliary LED lamps, a steel bash plate, heavy-duty side steps, and orange Tremor badging. An exclusive ‘Command Grey’ exterior paint option is available in addition to the standard colour range. Inside, you’ll find Tremor-embossed seats, ebony-coloured accents, and all-weather floor mats. Despite these upgrades, the V6 powertrain remains unchanged, pumping out 184kW of power and 600Nm of torque.
Option Packs
For those looking to further customise their Everest Tremor, Ford offers several option packs. These include the Rough Terrain Pack, Touring Pack, Premium Seat Pack, Towing Pack, and Premium Paint, all available at varying extra costs.
Final Comments
The full list of specifications for the Everest Tremor is expected to be released closer to launch. This exciting new variant made its global debut in Australia, and while the supply of Ranger Tremor is limited to 1150 units, the number of Everest Tremor units available remains unclear. Nonetheless, the Everest continues to be a popular choice among Australians, ranking eighth on the sales charts for the first half of 2024.
