Ford is acknowledging the strong demand for a right-hand drive (RHD) version of the rugged Bronco Raptor, particularly in markets like Australia. While significant hurdles remain, the possibility isn't entirely off the table.

Raptor Fever Grips Australia
Kay Hart, president of Ford's International Markets Group (IMG), confirmed the high level of customer interest in RHD Raptor models, with the Bronco Raptor topping the list. "So yes, definitely, there’s always customers that say ‘I’d love a Bronco Raptor, I’d love an Everest Raptor. I’d love an F-150 Raptor. I just love Raptor,’" Hart stated.
Engineering and Manufacturing Challenges
The primary obstacle to bringing the Bronco Raptor to Australia is its current engineering as a left-hand drive (LHD) vehicle. Converting to RHD would require substantial investment in engineering, tooling, and manufacturing, as Hart explained. “The vehicle is only currently engineered for left-hand drive. That’s the limiting factor, in fairness, is the engineering of it, the time it would take to engineer and then where you would manufacture it," she said.

High Price Tag a Concern
Even with a direct conversion, the US$90,000 price tag of the Bronco Raptor in the US would balloon to over $150,000 in Australia before on-road costs. Additional taxes and surcharges could push the price closer to $200,000, making it a tough sell for many buyers.
Manufacturing in Thailand a Possibility
Manufacturing in Thailand, where Ford already produces the Ranger and Everest, could potentially reduce costs. This would hinge on narrowing the price difference between the Ranger Raptor and the Bronco Raptor. The Bronco shares a version of the T6 platform with the Ranger and Everest.

Ford CEO Hints at RHD Bronco
Ford CEO Jim Farley hinted late last year that the "big Bronco" would be built in right-hand drive, suggesting a potential shift in strategy.
Bronco Raptor: Performance and Off-Road Prowess
The Bronco Raptor sits atop the Bronco lineup, boasting a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine and a raft of off-road enhancements, including unique suspension tuning, more ground clearance, and a Baja drive mode.

Everest Raptor a Less Likely Prospect
The potential RHD Bronco Raptor could also rule out an Everest Raptor, as pricing both models around the same level might prove difficult.
