Starting this week, parents can receive:

  • $150 for each primary school-aged child
  • $250 for each secondary school-aged child

The initiative is designed to help families manage the rising costs associated with schooling. Education Minister Sabine Winton emphasized that the payment aims to ease financial pressures during a time of global inflation.

"We want as many families as possible to claim," Minister Winton said. "This year, there is a particular focus on supporting regional communities to access the payment."

The program builds on last year's effort, which saw four out of five WA families benefit, totalling more than $75 million in payments.

To apply, parents must:

  • Lodge an application through the Service WA app
  • Provide their child's WA student number
  • Receive payments directly into their nominated bank account

Applications are open now and will close at the end of Term 2 on July 4, 2025.

Families are encouraged to apply early to ensure they receive the support in time to assist with school expenses.
