The Cause: Brake Fluid Leak

According to the recall notice, a manufacturing defect could cause brake fluid to leak into the Antilock Braking System (ABS) control module.

The Risk: Electrical Short and Fire

This brake fluid leakage can lead to an electrical short circuit, potentially causing a vehicle engine compartment fire while the car is parked or being driven.

Hyundai's Warning

Important Safety Advice

The recall notice includes a critical safety recommendation: "Affected vehicles should be parked in an open space and away from flammable materials and structures, i.e. not in a garage until the rectification is carried away."
