It was a day of dismay for an unemployed man in Sydney as the New South Wales police confiscated his Lamborghini supercar, Harley-Davidson motorcycle, and two Rolex watches, alleging ties to organised crime networks.

May marked the beginning of an intensive probe into the suspicious wealth of individuals supposedly connected with organised crime. The NSW State Crime Command’s Organised Crime Squad and the NSW Crime Commission led the charge in this investigation.

Their persistent efforts paid off on July 11, when they executed a search warrant at a Parramatta unit. The objects of their interest – a Lamborghini Huracan, a Harley-Davidson V-Rod, and a stash of jewelry – were unearthed and promptly seized.

Police estimates peg the combined value of the seized assets at over a staggering $500,000.

Charges Against the Suspect

The Organised Crime Squad sprang into action on August 16, charging a 39-year-old man with “dishonestly possess interfered with unique identifier”. What makes the case even more intriguing is that the man has reportedly been on unemployment benefits since 2019.
