Audi Q3: Next-Gen Best-Seller Spotted with Major Upgrades

The Audi Q3 is gearing up for its third generation, and recent spy photos reveal that this popular SUV is getting a stunning exterior makeover.

The current Q3 is Audi’s top-selling vehicle in Australia, dominating its segment in sales. Let’s dive into what the new model has in store!

Fresh Look and Modern Touches

Spotted testing in Europe, this is our best glimpse yet at the new Q3, following earlier sightings of heavily camouflaged prototypes. The front end flaunts a design that echoes recent Audi trends, featuring sleek daytime running lights perched above a vertical stack of driving lights, all surrounding a streamlined grille.

The integrated number plate mount sits at the bottom of the grille, just above a larger lower air intake. Move towards the rear, and you’ll notice the tail light signature and full-width rear light bar, reminiscent of the e-tron GT electric sedan.

Sporty Details and Speculations

The prototype spotted appears to be the regular Q3, not the coupe-inspired Sportback variant. Intriguingly, this model features red brake calipers, which were previously exclusive to the RSQ3, hinting that the S line appearance package might adopt this sporty flair.

Platform and Powertrains

Reports suggest that the new Q3 will adopt the Volkswagen Group’s MQB Evo platform, likely expanding its dimensions. Expect a range of petrol and plug-in hybrid powertrains, but if you’re after an all-electric experience, the Q4 e-tron is your go-to.

Sales and Popularity

In Australia, the Q3 has been a runaway success, accounting for over a third of Audi’s local deliveries this year, with 3109 new units registered between January and July. It’s also the top-selling small SUV in the $45,000-plus category, outpacing the BMW X1 and Volvo XC40.

Despite its higher price tag, the Q3 is nearly outselling the Chery Omoda 5 and has already surpassed the Honda HR-V. Audi’s latest updates are set to keep this trend rolling.
