The Minns Labor Government has officially commenced construction on the $309 million redevelopment of Penrith Stadium, marking a major investment in Western Sydney’s sports and entertainment future.

A New Era for Western Sydney
This long-awaited transformation will turn the existing stadium into a modern, multi-use venue capable of hosting a variety of sporting, entertainment and community events. With a seating capacity of 30,000, the stadium will be designed for top-tier rugby league, union and football matches, as well as up to 10 major concerts per year.
Economic Boost
Led by John Holland Group, the redevelopment is expected to generate around 500 construction jobs and 650 ongoing operational jobs, bringing significant economic benefits to the region. The precinct will also support local businesses through increased foot traffic and event-day tourism.
Community-Centric Design
Alongside major events, the redeveloped stadium will offer spaces for private hire such as meetings, catered functions and conferences. The adjacent training field will be redesigned into a vibrant community hub featuring multipurpose courts, child-friendly play zones and new landscaping for recreational use.

Modern Architecture and Accessibility
Renowned architects Populous and Tyrrell Studio are leading the design, ensuring Penrith Stadium becomes one of the most premium suburban stadiums in the country. The facility will also be upgraded for universal accessibility, safety and inclusivity.
Timeline
Construction is underway with a scheduled completion date in 2027. For ongoing updates, visit the official Penrith Stadium website.
