Toyota has announced two separate recalls affecting 147,000 vehicles in the United States, citing potential safety risks. The recalls involve rear brake hose damage in Tacoma models and seatbelt defects in select Toyota and Lexus vehicles.

Currently no Australian models are impacted by these recalls.

Rear Brake Hose Recall – 2024-25 Toyota Tacoma

The largest recall affects 106,000 Toyota Tacoma 4WD vehicles from the 2024-2025 model years. The issue involves rear brake hoses that may become damaged over time, especially with mud and debris buildup in the rear wheels.

A brake fluid leak caused by hose damage could increase the risk of an accident. Toyota dealers will replace the affected brake hoses free of charge to resolve the issue.

Seatbelt Recall – Toyota Camry, Lexus NX, and RX

A second recall involves 46,000 vehicles, where the second-row center seatbelt may have sustained damage during manufacturing. Affected seatbelts may fail to meet strength requirements, potentially compromising safety.

Toyota and Lexus dealers will inspect and replace the seatbelt assembly if necessary.

Toyota & Lexus Affected Vehicles

The recall impacts the following models in the U.S.:

  • 2025 Toyota Camry
  • 2025 Lexus NX
  • 2024 Lexus RX
  • 2025 Lexus RX
  • 2024 Toyota Tacoma
  • 2025 Toyota Tacoma

Toyota will begin notifying affected owners in April. Vehicle owners can contact their local Toyota or Lexus dealership for further assistance.

Australian Models Unaffected

Toyota Australia has not confirmed that these recalls do not affect any vehicles sold locally. The Tacoma is not offered in Australia, and no reports of similar seatbelt defects have been found in domestic Toyota and Lexus models.
