Aero Over, a Japanese tuning company, has unveiled a striking modification package for the Toyota Crown Sport SUV that draws heavy inspiration from the Ferrari Purosangue.
This unique creation was displayed at the recent Tokyo Auto Salon, highlighting the uncanny similarities between the modified Toyota and Ferrari's first SUV.
The Aero Over Crown Sport features several Ferrari-inspired changes:
- Wider, more aggressive front grille
- Split horizontal light strips resembling the Purosangue
- Yellow Aero Over bonnet emblem replacing the Crown logo
- New silver alloy wheels with black inserts
- Yellow-painted brake calipers
- Aggressive rear diffuser with quad exhaust outlets
Similarities and Differences
While the modifications create a strong visual link to the Purosangue, there are notable differences:
- Wheel design differs from the Ferrari, described as "Temu-spec rather than replica"
- Lack of carbon fiber components
- Retention of standard Crown Sport tail-lights (which already resembled the Ferrari's)
Pricing and Availability
- Toyota Crown Sport base price in Japan: 5.9 million yen (approx. AU$60,500)
- Aero Over kit pricing: Not yet announced
- For comparison: Ferrari Purosangue Australian price: AU$728,000 before on-road costs
The Crown Sport and its Aero Over modification package are currently not available in Australia.
Aero Over's Ferrari-inspired Toyota Crown Sport demonstrates the creative potential in automotive customization, blurring the lines between mainstream and luxury brands. While it may not match the performance or prestige of a genuine Purosangue, this modified Crown Sport offers an intriguing visual alternative for enthusiasts seeking exotic styling at a fraction of the cost.
As the automotive world continues to evolve, such bold interpretations of design themes across different market segments showcase the enduring appeal of iconic automotive aesthetics.Tags:
