Unveiling the 2025 Genesis GV60: A Sneak Peek into the Revamped EV Design

Genesis’ Premier Electric Vehicle GV60 Gets an Exciting Facelift

Genesis, the marque luxury brand, is set to dazzle the automotive world once again with its first dedicated electric vehicle (EV), the Genesis GV60. Born into the formidable Hyundai family, the GV60 is preparing for a major revamp. Now in its third year, the upgraded GV60 has been spotted in the wild, sporting a fresh inside-out aesthetic and exciting promise of enhanced performance, mileage, and speedier charging.

A Peek at the Upgraded GV60

While the revamped GV60 was cleverly hidden under a thick black veil, a keen eye could discern a few key changes. The front bumper has been reshaped, and the headlight units now boast petite LED lights, a shift from the current model. The rear changes seem more subtle, with the most noticeable tweak being a new alloy wheel design.

Diving into the Cabin

Inside the new GV60, the overall design remains familiar, with a minor modification to the shape of the steering wheel’s center, now reflecting the front grille signature. A third spoke has been added with a flattened bottom, giving the wheel a more contemporary appearance. The GV60 retains its dual-screen infotainment and instrument cluster setup, expansive center console with elegant dials, and one-of-a-kind diagonal displays that replace traditional side mirrors.

Power and Performance

The current GV60 comes in two all-wheel-drive variants. The base model combines a 74kW front and 160kW rear motor, delivering a total power output of 234kW and a torque of 605Nm. On the other hand, the flagship Performance grade features 180kW motors on both axles, providing a total output of 360kW and a peak torque of 700Nm. Impressively, the GV60 Performance AWD can sprint from 0-100km/h in a mere 4.0 seconds in Boost Mode.

Powering the Beast

Both models are powered by a 77.4kWh lithium-ion battery pack, boasting a claimed WLTP range of 470km and 466km respectively. However, the thrill of driving a GV60 comes at a cost. The AWD model is priced at a strong $107,700 before on-roads, while the Performance AWD takes it up a notch to $114,700 before on-roads.

The Arrival of GV60 Magma

In addition to the revamped GV60, Genesis has also confirmed the upcoming production of a hotter version of the electric SUV – the GV60 Magma. Expected to hit the production line next year, the GV60 Magma is set to battle it out with power outputs rivalling some of the top contenders in the market.

Final Comments

Genesis continues to push the boundaries of luxury and performance with its electric vehicle lineup. The upcoming GV60 facelift and the anticipated arrival of the GV60 Magma are a testament to the brand’s commitment to innovation and excellence in the EV segment. While the exact launch dates remain under wraps, one thing is clear – the future of electric motoring is exciting, and Genesis is leading the charge.
